TEARS OF A MOTHER. Every year seems like yesterday to Amanda In the village of Bamenda Where she lost her only daughter Yeeh! (Exclamation) To a flooding river The excruciatingly painful dilemma Triggers the accumulated clouds of tears in her eyes The pours from her eyes are like the unpopular water falls of imagination Day after day Nights after nights She cries aloud awaiting the return of Atanda Her precious daughter Come back, come back to me, she cries Saying, I want to turn back the hands of time Authored by Elizabeth O. Ogunmodede. Extracted from Wisdom and Voices, an anthology of poems.
